Penn Badgley was photographed looking very suspicious while strolling in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Apparently, the actor is back to work and has been filming scenes for the upcoming “You” sequel.

In the photos shared by Daily Mail, the 32-year-old actor is seen donning a blue ensemble comprising a dark blue shirt, slacks and denim jacket. He also appeared to be carrying a black backpack and a shopping bag.

The low-profile look made Badgley blend well with the crowd, but his actions were telling of his character Joe Goldberg’s stalker ways. In one photo, he is seen staring intently into an old Honda sedan. Then in another snap, Badgley is seen sneakily getting into the vehicle.

A third photo taken much later showed Badgley in a lighter blue sweatshirt with the same jacket and slacks. He also appeared to have ditched his bags as he strolled the streets without carrying anything.

Badgley was spotted filming in Los Angeles because that’s where “You” Season 2 will be set when the show returns. As previously reported, Joe is moving to the City of Angels following the crimes he committed in New York.

The new setting will also mark the start of a new saga for the stalker. Elizabeth Lail, who played Beck in Season 1, told Radio Times that things will be different in the sophomore run of the show.

“I think they’re shooting it in LA, and so nothing will be the same. Hardly anything. It’ll be a whole other story,” the actress said.

The set change is also understandable since the makers of the show are following the book series where the show is based on. Show writer Sera Gamble said they decided to shoot Season 2 in Los Angeles because it’s where the second book of the series, titled “Hidden Bodies,” takes place.

Late last week, it was announced that “Gotham” star Robin Lord Taylor has been tapped for a recurring role in Season 2. Taylor will reportedly portray Joe’s archrival Will, who is described as someone who is “highly intelligent” but “deals with unsavory sorts as part of his job.”

Other new additions to the show’s cast are Victoria Pedretti, who will give life to Joe’s new love interest named Love; James Scully, who is playing Love’s brother Forty; and Jenna Ortega, a young con artists who will try to work her charms on Badgley’s character.

Netflix has not announced an official release date for “You” Season 2 as of late.
