Pizza Recall 2019: More Pizzas Recalled For Lack Of Federal Inspection

Following its June 6 recall for frozen pizza with pork that did not receive a federal inspection prior to distribution, Table 87 Frozen, LLC has recalled more frozen pizza products because they also did not receive a federal inspection.

The recall includes frozen, ready-to-eat, prosciutto and pepperoni pizzas that were produced from June 3, 2017, through June 4, 2019. The pizza was packaged in 9.6-ounce plastic shrink-wrapped packages that contain a single personal size pizza. The pizzas were labeled as Table 87 Coal Oven Pizza Home Of The Coal Oven Slice Prosciutto with UPC codes of 804879558286 and 10804879558283, as well as Table 87 Coal Oven Pizza Home Of The Coal Oven Slice Pepperoni with a UPC code of 804879583080.

The recalled pizzas have an establishment number of EST. 51192 inside the USDA mark of inspection. The establishment number was applied to the pizzas without authorization, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said.

The affected pizzas were shipped to retail and wholesale locations nationwide. They were also sold through online sales. Labels of the recalled pizza can be viewed here.

Consumers are urged to check their freezers for the recalled pizzas. They should not be consumed. The affected pizza should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

The FSIS discovered the issue when the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets notified the agency, inquiring if Table 87 was operating with a USDA Grant of Inspection.

The company has not received any reports of adverse reaction to consuming the recalled pizzas. Consumers concerned about health issues from the pizza products should contact their healthcare provider.
