The Pokemon Company is taking extra steps to address availability issues brought about by the “high demand” of “Pokemon” cards.

In a statement published on its support website, The Pokemon Company said it is “aware” that consumers are “experiencing difficulties purchasing certain Pokémon Trading Card Game products due to very high demand and global shipping constraints impacting availability.”

The company said it understands that the situation — likely brought about by the number of scalpers buying large amounts of TCG packs, according to Gamespot — is “disappointing” for all fans, especially those who are really looking forward to getting more “Pokemon” trading cards.

Addressing the supply issues, The Pokemon Company said it will work on producing more cards, particularly those that are affected by the high demand.

“In situations where there is limited availability, we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to support this increased demand. Reprinted products are expected to be available at retailers as soon as possible,” the company stated.

The Pokemon Company added that it will also work on increasing production for upcoming “Pokemon” TCG expansions to accommodate potentially high demand and ensure a steady supply among retailers.

“For new Pokémon TCG expansions launching in the future, we are maximizing production to increase product availability upon release, and we will continue to reprint the products to replenish stock at retailers as soon as possible,” the company stated.

The company is expected to release the next expansion, “Shining Fates,” on Feb. 19. The new expansion adds 190 new cards to those already available.

“We’d like to thank the community for their continued support and patience as we work to deliver more Pokémon TCG products to fans,” The Pokemon Company said in its announcement.

This is good news for fans everywhere as scalpers have been doubling down on their efforts to grab all “Pokemon” TCG cards they can get – even going as far as to buy out all of the cards included in McDonald’s Happy Meal, Fast Company reported.

Scalpers looking for a popular item to buy and re-sell at higher prices rushed to McDonald’s, overtaking kids and younger consumers and getting all “Pokemon” TCG cards in every Happy Meal. Disappointed customers took to Twitter to reveal that they were unable to get the said products.
