Prince Charles denied his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles in a past interview while he was still married to Princess Diana.

The Prince of Wales addressed the rumors of his infidelity in "Prince Charles: His Children, the Paparazzi & Marriage to Diana." The interview was aired following the deterioration of their marriage, and in it the host asked Prince Charles about the cause of the royals' split.

"The most damaging charge that is made in relation to your marriage is because of your relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles you were persistently unfaithful to your wife and thus caused the breakdown, what is your response to that particular criticism?" Jonathan Dimbleby asked him, as quoted by Express.

"Well I… the trouble is these things again as I was saying earlier are so personal it's difficult to talk about these in front of everybody I mean obviously anybody wouldn’t want to…" Prince Charles responded.

"But all I can say is there's been so much speculation feeding on every other speculation that becomes bigger and bigger, and all I can say is there is no truth in so much of this of this speculation and Mrs Parker Bowles is a great friend of mine," the future king continued.

Prince Charles insisted that he has a large number of friends and that he turned to them when life was tough. When his marriage with Princess Diana broke down, they were there for him. He explained that Camilla "has been a friend for a very long time and - along with a lot of other friends - and will continue to be a friend for a very long time."

"And I think most people would realise that when marriages break down, as awful and miserable as that is, that so often it is your friends who are the most important and helpful and understand and encouraging and otherwise you would go stark-raving mad," Prince Charles added.

However, in Princess Diana's secret interviews, she revealed that their marriage was difficult because "there were three of us." The People's Princess was aware of Prince Charles and Camilla's affair. In fact, there was a time when Camilla broke her heart.

Princess Diana also revealed that Camilla broke their honeymoon when she sent her present to Prince Charles. The latter said that nothing was wrong with the present as it was from a friend, but it didn’t ease Princess Diana’s jealousy. "And boy, did we have a row. Jealousy, total jealousy. And it was such a good idea the two 'C's but it wasn't that clever," Princess Diana confessed.
