Prince Charles is involved in a major counterfeit art scandal.

The Prince of Wales has become embroiled in an art scandal for accepting artworks on load. An American forger claims that the artworks featuring an image of water lilies that hung at Dumfries House, the headquarters of Prince Charles’ The Prince’s Foundation, is his work.

Daily Mail reported that the other two artworks of Picasso and Dali were also counterfeits. Those were among the 17 paintings on loan from bankrupt businessman James Stunt. A spokesman for the foundation has confirmed this.

“Dumfries House accepts artwork on loan from time to time from individuals and organisations. It is extremely regrettable that the authenticity of these particular paintings, which are no longer on display, now appears to be in doubt,” the spokesman said.

American artist Tony Tetro who was sentenced to six months in prison for art forgery told The Mail on Sunday that he painted the pictures and sold it to Stunt. Tetro makes a legal living by replicating masterpieces for private clients in their homes and offices. Stunt acquired 11 of his works.

“You can impress your friends with my pictures, decorate your home with them, but they would never pass expert scrutiny,” Tetro said.

“I don’t want any part of this. It has got to be stopped now rather than later. I’m told these pictures went to Dumfries House. There is no question about it: James knew they were mine.”

Dumfries House revealed that they had concerns about the disputed “Monet.” All of the 17 artworks loaned by Stunt have already been removed and returned to him. However, the former billion dealer insisted that those pictures were genuine by saying, “None of my stuff is fake.”

In related news, Prince Charles got emotional in the ITV documentary “Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall.” The heir apparent was close to crying after seeing Prince William’s works as the Duke of Cambridge prepares to take over the Duchy of Cornwall.

However, unlike Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who were criticized for being vulnerable in their ITV documentary, the future king received praises from the viewers. Many said that they had so much admiration for Prince Charles after watching the program.
