Meghan Markle patted Kate Middleton in a rare photo taken before the split of their households.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced their split earlier this year. Months after leaving Kensington Palace, Prince Harry and Markle also left their shared charity with Prince William and Middleton.

Prior to their split there were rumors that they were feuding. However, before that, the fab four appeared alongside each other for the royal family’s traditional Christmas walk. A photo taken on the said event captured Markle patting Middleton at the back.

“Love this photo of Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, patting Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge - as Prince William and Prince Harry look on,” Derek Momodu, associate picture editor of Daily Mail, wrote on Twitter.

While many found the photo adorable, some felt that it was forced. According to some royal fans, Prince Harry’s wife acted that way because there were cameras.

“Out of whack behavior compared to leaving Eugenie’s wedding where Meghan did not talk—or even look at Kate. This was WAAAAY too forced for the cameras,” one netizen wrote.

“It’s patronizing and forced. Kate doesn’t need to be lead by anyone she has been and will be in this family way longer than Meghan,” a different user commented.

On the same outing, netizens alleged that Prince William snubbed Markle. A clip of the future king fixing his scarf as Markle attempts to talk to him has resurfaced online. Many felt that the second in line to the throne snubbed his sister-in-law as he did not respond to her.

Some also noticed how Prince Charles ignored Markle when she turned to him after Prince William snubbed her. The heir apparent continued walking prompting some netizens to say that none of the royal family members like Markle and it was “very noticeable.”

“This shows how stupid her fans and the media are that they don’t realize video moments like this that shows she’s not likable to the family,” another netizen commented.
