Prince Charles is reportedly at risk of coronavirus after being in the same room with Prince Albert of Monaco, who tested positive for COVID-19.

According to ITV’s royal correspondent Chris Ship, the Duke of Cornwall is in the high-risk category along with his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles because of their ages.

On the “ Royal Rota” show, host Lizzie Robinson confirmed that Prince Albert of Monaco has tested positive for coronavirus.

“He was in the same room as Prince Charles just nine days ago. We're now talking about a royal family who is having to respond to a global emergency and make their own changes. Given the age of the Queen, 93 and nearly 94, there is a lot of concern because they are in the most vulnerable group possible,” Ship added.

“Not just them, Charles and Camilla are both in their 70s so they come under that age group who are encouraged to distance themselves socially and protect themselves. Suddenly there are members of the royal family we're probably not going to see for a while,” Robinson said.

According to Express, Prince Albert is the first head of state infected with the virus after palace officials made the announcement. His diagnosis came just days after he was photographed sitting beside Prince Charles at the WaterAid charity event in London.

Prince Charles and Camilla’s spring royal tour has been canceled amid orders for senior members of the royal family to stay home amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Owing to the unfolding situation with the Coronavirus pandemic, the British Government has asked Their Royal Highnesses to postpone their spring tour to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus and Jordan,” the palace said in a statement.

A royal insider clarified that the cancelation of Prince Charles’ royal tour doesn’t mean that he will be absent from his royal duties for a long time.

“The prince is operating as close to business as usual as possible at the moment,” the source said.
