Prince Charles was reportedly left feeling horrified following an incident during his tour of the United States years ago.

Royal expert Brian Hoey revealed in his book “Not in Front of the Corgis” that Prince Charles was not pleased during his visit to one of the countries he adored. While there, Prince Charles was addressed as by Americans as “Hi Prince.”

“His Royal Highness was not amused and his Private Secretary was instructed to inform future hosts that if fellow guests could not manage his full title, he would prefer a plain ‘Charles.’ Anything but ‘Hi Prince,’” the expert said.

According to the royal family’s website, there are no specific codes of behavior when meeting royals during their tours. But people typically want to observe the traditional forms.

When meeting royals, male fans are expected to do a neck bow and female fans are expected to do a small curtsy. Other royals prefer to shake hands.

“On presentation to The Queen, the correct formal address is ‘Your Majesty’ and subsequently ‘Ma’am,’ pronounced with a short ‘a,’ as in ‘jam,’” the website states.

Younger generations of royals have no qualms being addressed as Your Royal Highness or simply as sir or ma’am.

In related news, the future King is not only particular when it comes to how he is addressed in public. Prince Charles is also very particular when it comes to what he brings with him when he travels overseas.

Carolyn Robb, the youngest and first female chef who served Prince Charles and Princess Diana, told Daily Mail that Prince Charles prefers to bring his homegrown food from the United Kingdom when he travels abroad.

But even though his request seems a bit strange, it is being followed by his royal chef and staff to make sure that Prince Charles won’t get sick when he’s in another country. After all, the future King has a packed schedule every time he goes abroad.

In related news, Prince Charles also made headlines this week after he was once again accused of abusing his royal power. This is because Queen Elizabeth II’s successor has controversial views about a lot of issues.
