Princess Eugenie is back... on Instagram.

The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew had been MIA on the social media platform for nine weeks making her new post the first of the new year. So, what made Princess Eugenie break her silence? None other than the anniversary of a monumental moment in her relationship with her now-husband, Jack Brooksbank.

"On this day two years ago...Jack and I announced we were engaged," she captioned a photo of the happy couple followed by the ring and kissy-face emoji.

Considering everything that has been happening within the royal family in the time that she went silent, it's easy to see why Princess Eugenie seemingly took a break.

The 29-year-old's last post was made on Nov. 15, just one day before Prince Andrew's controversial interview with the BBC about his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The interview, which was an attempt to clear up any misunderstandings about their relationship, actually backfired and led to even more backlash that eventually trickled down to Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice.

Both sisters were reportedly "forced out" of their offices for their royal patronages by Queen Elizabeth. Bea's upcoming nuptials to property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are also being affected by their father's actions.

"There was going to be a big party at Buckingham Palace with his charities and friends, but that’s been cancelled," royal correspondent Jennie Bond shared. "But also I think they’re going to have to 'rethink' the arrangements for Beatrice’s wedding."
