Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby’s middle name could be Diana, according to a royal expert.

Richard Fitzwilliams is convinced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will pay tribute to the late Princess Diana if their firstborn will be a girl. If not Diana, the couple may also choose the names Mary or Victoria as a nod to Queen Elizabeth II.

“If they have a baby girl Mary, one of the Queen’s middle names or Victoria, a monarch now far more understood owing to films, television series and documentaries could be chosen. Diana might well appear as a middle name,” he told Express.

On the other hand, royal fans may also expect the couple to give their baby girl an unusual middle name to celebrate the fact that the infant’s roots are uniquely-descended, not only from her royal ancestors but also from royal slaves.

Diana is also the middle name of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s daughter, Princess Charlotte. The 3-year-old’s full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

In related news, there are also some speculations suggesting that Markle and Prince Harry’s baby could be named Thomas if they will have a boy. Thomas is the name of Markle’s dad and half-brother.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes said that there is a 33/1 odd that the royal baby will be called Thomas despite a friend’s claim that the former lighting director would want to share the same name with his grandchild.

Markle used to have a close relationship with her dad, but they recently had a falling out after Thomas posed in a series of fake photos ahead of the royal wedding. It has also been reported that Thomas skipped Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding after suffering from a heart attack. He also underwent surgery days before the huge event.

Since then, Markle has not spoken to her dad and half-sibling, But Thomas, Samantha Markle, and Thomas Jr. continue to talk about the Duchess in their interviews.
