Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing their best to keep baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor out of the spotlight. However, insiders suggest even the royal family thinks they’re taking their efforts a little too far.

“William thinks his brother is going overboard keeping Archie out of the spotlight and blames Meghan,” a royal source told Us Weekly in the July 22 print issue.

Meghan and Harry have opted to keep many events to themselves recently. Most notably, they decided not to greet the press outside the hospital after the Duchess of Sussex gave birth. They instead introduced Archie to the world a couple of days after he was born, and they only allowed one reporter and a couple of photographers in rather than a whole press line.

The latest complaint came after Archie had a super-private christening. The baptism was held at Windsor Castle without any media fanfare. Meghan and Harry didn’t announce the ceremony until after it happened, and they still haven’t revealed the godparents (and seemingly have no plans to do so).

“While the queen accepted Harry and Meghan’s decision to keep the event private, William and Kate weren’t happy about it,” an insider told the magazine.

William and Kate might not agree with their parenting methods, but it seems the Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex are closer than ever right now. Now that Meghan has given birth and been able to settle into her new home, things are a little less hectic and stressful.

“You’re seeing more confidence from Meghan recently but also from Kate,” an insider told People. “They’re each a little more relaxed. They have more in common now.”
