Queen Elizabeth could have a lonely Christmas.

It has just been revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton have not yet confirmed their attendance at the yearly celebration in Sandringham.

Royal Central desk editor Lydia Starbuck asked if a confirmation regarding the royal couple’s attendance has already been confirmed or denied. She said that there’s a possibility for the Cambridges to skip Christmas with Her Majesty because they have done it in the past.

“They spent Christmas with her mum and dad. Or when Charlotte was tiny, we had those pictures of them walking to Church together with George. So, it’s fairly normal for the younger generation to go and spend Christmas elsewhere,” she said.

Royal commentator Brittani Barger said that there’s a possibility for the Cambridges and the Sussexes to not be present at this year’s Christmas celebration, but that’s fine. Express asked Buckingham Palace to confirm Prince William and Middleton’s attendance and they gave a cryptic response.

“We do not confirm in advance which members of the Royal Family will be with The Queen at Sandringham on Christmas Day,” the palace said.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle were criticized for their decision to skip this year’s celebration in in favor of spending time with the Duchess of Sussex’s mom, Doria Ragland, in the United States.

While speaking with Express, royal author Ingrid Seward said that the Queen was hurt by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision. Seward said that the decision is particularly heartbreaking since the Queen and Prince Philip are already very old.

Royal commentator Marlene Koenig told Express that it is understandable why Prince Harry and Markle are being criticized for their decision to skip Christmas in Sandringham. After all, the public has been finding fault in every single thing that they do.

“The Queen seems to be all right with it so why should anyone criticize it?” she said.
