Prince William got candid as he spoke about fatherhood and parenting with his wife, Kate Middleton.

In the documentary “Football, Prince William and our Mental Health,” the royal father of three opened up about his “biggest life-changing moment.” The future king was referring to fatherhood after welcoming Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2.

In the new film that airs on BBC, Prince William also recalled how his mom Princess Diana’s death affected him. It happened during his conversation with former soccer player Marvin Sordell.

Sordell shared how his mental health challenges impacted his career in football and personal life. He admitted that being a dad was the “hardest time in my life.”

“You know, I found it really tough . . . I grew up without my father . . . I really struggled with my emotions at that time,” he told the royal dad.

Prince William could relate to Sordell. However, on his part, it was growing up without a mom because Princess Diana died when they were still so young.

“Having children is the biggest life-changing moment, it really is . . . I think when you’ve been through something traumatic in life, and that is like you say, your dad not being around, my mother dying when I was younger, the emotions come back, in leaps and bounds,” Prince William shared.

The second in line to the throne is lucky to co-parent with Middleton. He shared a glimpse of how he and the Duchess of Cambridge make things work at home.

“Me and Catherine, particularly, we support each other and we go through those moments together and we kind of evolve and learn together,” the prince added.

“I can completely relate to what you’re saying about children coming along — it’s one of the most amazing moments of life, but it’s also one of the scariest.”

In related news, there is a new documentary about Princess Diana on Netflix. It will be a four-part documentary entitled “Being Me: Diana.” Royal author Leslie Carroll was concerned how the documentary could affect Prince William and Prince Harry.

According to her, it could provide closure or open new wounds to Princess Diana’s sons depending on who will speak to the camera. According to some sources, the royals and the Spencers declined to participate in the said documentary.
