Princess Diana made more blunders than Prince Charles on their royal wedding day.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ wedding was like a fairytale. Millions watched it and rejoiced with them when they tied the knot. However, the couple made a faux pas on their big day and Princess Diana did more mistakes than her royal husband.

The wedding nerves were apparent during the ceremony. Princess Diana mixed up her husband’s name by calling him Philip Charles Arthur George rather than Charles Philip. Prince Charles made a similar error when he said “thy worldly goods” instead of “my worldly goods,” Express reported.

However, aside from that mistake, Princess Diana made several other blunders.

Princess Diana’s wedding dress featured an incredible 25-foot train. It was made with silk taffeta fabric and antique lace. Many were convinced that it was the perfect dress for a fairytale wedding. However, when she emerged from the carriage, many noticed that it was significantly crumpled while in transit.

Also, before the bride walked down the aisle, she decided to apply a final spritz of her favorite perfume Quelques Fleurs. However, Princess Diana did not notice that the lid was loose, so she accidentally tipped the entire bottle in front of her dress, leaving a huge stain on the gown.

Princess Diana’s makeup artist Barbara Daly advised her to just hold the stained area as though she was lifting her dress to avoid stepping on it. Princess Diana asked her if the crowd won’t notice it and she assured the royal.

“Yes absolutely - you and every bride in the country has done that!” Daly told Princess Diana.

Designer Elizabeth Emanuel also confessed that she made a mistake with Princess Diana’s wedding dress. According to her, she left a safety pin in Princess Diana’s petticoat. Since it was under all of the layers of net and silk, the safety pin had gone unnoticed.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage was fine. According to Katie Nicholl, the couple was very happy after Prince William was born, but it didn’t last long. When the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed Prince Harry two years later, he was already born in an “unhappy marriage.”
