Princess Diana’s Unlikely Friendship With Famous Personalities Hillary Clinton, Michael Jackson Revisited

Princess Diana had an unlikely friendship some famous personalities like Hillary Clinton, Michael Jackson, Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Liza Minnelli, and more.

The late Princess of Wales met Clinton for the first time one year before her death in 1997. Princess Diana visited the then-First Lady in Washington D.C., and they attended an event supporting the Red Cross.

Following the Princess’ death, Bill Clinton said that he and Clinton were very much fond of Princess Diana. The Clintons were also present at Princess Diana’s funeral.

Minnelli and Princess Diana were also close to each other. The two first met after they were introduced to each other backstage during the singer’s concert in London. They also saw each other several times at various events where Princess Diana served as the guest of honor.

“We’d fall into a conversation then we’d meet for tea… My instinct was to protect her. We talked about everything under the sun; she loved music,” Minnelli said.

Award-winning singer Jackson was reportedly in love with Princess Diana but in a platonic way. The singer’s bodyguard, Matt Fiddes, previously revealed that Jackson and Princess Diana would talk on the phone for hours after they met for the first time in 1988.

Jackson also attended Princess Diana’s funeral, and he told the press that the mom of two was his friend and he loved her.

Before Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise split in 2001, they had the opportunity to meet Princess Diana at the screening of “Far and Away” in 1992. The ex-couple also attended Princess Diana’s funeral and told the press that they were devastated over her sudden passing.

“They run lights and they chase you and they harass you. It happens all over the world, and it has certainly gotten worse,” Kidman said.

Princess Diana was also friends with Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury. The AIDS/HIV victim helped disguise the Princess of Wales so that they could go to a bar one night. Prince Charles’ ex-wife was also friends with Elton John. The two had a falling out, but they managed to reconcile after Gianni Versace’s death.
