• Priyanka Chopra Jonas' SONA to open in late March
  • Indian chef Hari Nayak will helm the kitchen
  • SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavors I grew up with: Chopra

After releasing her first book, 'Unfinished: A Memoir,' last month, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas informed her 61 million followers on Instagram Saturday that she has now become a restaurateur.

The restaurant, SONA, located at 36 East 20th Street in New York’s Flatiron district, is set to open in late March.

"I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into, Chopra wrote. "SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavors I grew up with."

The actress further revealed chef Hari Nayak will helm the kitchen.

"A masterful talent, who has created the most delicious and innovative menu, taking you on a food journey through my amazing country," she praised Nayak.

“SONA is opening later this month, and I can’t wait to see you there! This endeavor would not have been possible without the leadership of my friends Maneesh Goyal and David Rabin,” she added. “Thank you to our designer Melissa Bowers and the rest of the team for realizing this vision so clearly.”

The actress posted three photos alongside the lengthy caption and disclosed that the second and third photos were clicked in September 2019. In the third picture, Chopra was captured performing a small prayer ceremony while entering the restaurant space with her musician husband, Nick Jonas.

"The White Tiger" star posted another picture Sunday to flaunt the sweater knitted by her mother. "My mother knitted this sweater for me while she’s been here in London," she wrote. "My family is my greatest blessing. So happy to be reunited."

Later that day, Chopra's husband and the 28-year-old musician also posted a picture of himself, Chopra, and their family members posing together. The "Chasing Happiness" star clarified in the caption that "after isolating and testing I’m so happy to finally have some family time!"

While fans praised the family photo in the comment section, one of the users noted that Jonas doesn't need to explain himself for spending time with his family considering the mention of “isolating and testing” in the caption.

On the work front, Chopra will be seen in a romantic movie, "Text for You" along with singer Celine Dion and "Outlander" star Sam Heughan this year.
