'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers
What can we expect from the final two episodes of "Game of Thrones" Season 5? HBO

Many fans are still reeling over the last scenes from "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 8, "Hardhome." Jon Snow and Tormund have just survived a massive White Walker attack led by the Night's King. Following that scene, the show quickly reminded fans that there are just two episodes left in the season. Many of these characters are nowhere near a climax, so what can we expect from the penultimate episode and the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale?

Warning: "Game of Thrones" Season 5 spoilers and "A Song of Ice and Fire" discussion ahead.

Who better to answer such questions than Elio M. García, Jr.? He runs Westeros.org with Linda Antonsson. He provided expert advice on R+L = J and shared his thoughts on the speculation surrounding the final two episodes and some popular storylines. Prior to "Hardhome," IMDb listed the return of several characters -- most notably the Night's King, Yara Greyjoy and Balon Greyjoy. While the list still requires a grain of salt, it did correctly list the Night's King for "Hardhome." It will be interesting to see if he shows up in the next two episodes -- maybe as a quick flashback -- but what about Yara and Balon? Yara hasn't been seen in a while and Balon is still alive despite being dead for a long time in George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.

"I admit the ironborn story is murky to me. They're changing the order of things a fair bit from the novels, and it's not clear what it all means," Garcia said to International Business Times. "The ironborn haven't been of any note in the North since Ramsay slaughtered them last season, so Balon's death would seem to have no real importance to the North. It may have rather more importance for the rest of the realm, however." It's still unclear if the Greyjoys show up in "Game of Thrones" Season 5, but the casting rumors for Season 6 point to Euron Greyjoy making his debut. If that's the case, the show could feature a cameo from Yara and Balon's death to set up an Iron Isles storyline for next season.

While Jon's storyline took a departure from "ASOIAF," Garcia thinks we'll be back to familiar territory for the remaining episodes. If that's the case, we all know what happens to Jon at the end of "A Dance with Dragons." The series creators could use his "death" as a tremendous cliffhanger that would leave fans shaking their head in despair and vowing to quit the show, again. Garcia expects Daenerys' storyline to follow her "ASOIAF" storyline, which means she will be flying off with Drogon and leaving Tyrion alone in Meereen. Cersei's "walk of shame" is inevitable and it looks like Arya will complete her first mission for the Faceless Men.

With most of the storylines following what was laid out in "ASOIAF," what about Stannis and Sansa Stark? Garcia expects there will be plenty of surprises. "I suspect Stannis will take a rather unexpected turn when Brienne of Tarth confronts him -- remember her vow to avenge Renly and kill Stannis," Garcia said. Considering Stannis is headed toward Winterfell and Brienne is waiting for a sign, it's not out of the realm of possibility. While some are hoping for a vengeful Queen of the North storyline, Garcia thinks Sansa will be on the run by the end of "Game of Thrones" Season 5. "I think the details that are coming together suggest she may flee Winterfell with Reek/Theon and try and get to the Wall in the hopes that Jon will protect her," Garcia said.

"Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 9, "A Dance of Dragons," will likely feature a lot of Daenerys' storyline. Based on the synopsis, Stannis may have to provide an answer to the whole sacrificing his daughter Shireen to the Lord of Light. "Stannis (Stephen Dillane) confronts a troubling decision. Jon (Kit Harington) returns to The Wall. Mace (Roger Ashton-Griffiths) visits the Iron Bank. Arya (Maisie Williams) encounters someone from her past. Dany (Emilia Clarke) reluctantly oversees a traditional celebration of athleticism," reads the "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 9 synopsis.

The "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale synopsis is fittingly light of details. "Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged," reads the brief description.
