UPDATE: 11 p.m. EDT — It seems “Quantico” is going to make audiences wait a little longer to see Harry and Will’s storyline continue, despite the episode 3 cliffhanger. The below didn’t happen in episode 4, but expect it in coming Season 2 episode.

Original story: “Quantico” welcomed back a familiar face last week. In the last moments of the episode, Will was seen but not with his FBI cohorts. Harry, played by Russell Tovey, tracked down Alex and Ryan’s former classmate. While on the red carpet at PaleyFest: Made in NY, Russell Tovey teased what Harry is hoping to get out of the meeting.

When asked about his scenes with Will (Jay Armstrong Johnson), Tovey couldn’t give away too many details. “I think you might see him shirtless, again, potentially. That’s probably about as much as I can say. And they’re gonna bond,” he told International Business Times.

Showrunner Joshua Safran also hinted at a romance. “I think Harry wants some information. And maybe something else,” Safran teased. “Maybe there’s a hot, romantic scene coming up.”

Harry wasn’t just looking for a hook up when he called Will, though. He wants the inside scoop on Alex (Priyanka Chopra) and Ryan (Jake McLaughlin). Tovey explained that audiences will figure out why Harry is so interested in these particular classmates as Season 2 progresses. “You’re yet to find out what Harry’s past is and that’s the intrigue and suspense of, ‘Who is Harry?’ basically. And the more he discovers about other people, the more he can adapt to his surroundings,” Tovey said.

Even the “Looking” alum doesn’t know all of Harry’s story. The “Quantico” writers don’t tell the cast what has happened to their characters until each script is finished. “I think that’s one of the kind of frustratingly magical things about this show, is that they keep you guessing, as they do the audience,” Tovey explained. “So all you can play as an actor is the truth of the moment. You don’t have any prerequisite knowledge of what is coming and what has been before, so you’re in the moment with it.”

The actor doesn’t have nearly as much intel as Safran, but the showrunner would only tease a little about what’s to come. He said that Will likely will be the first of multiple returning characters in Season 2.

“He’s not the only one, hopefully, that is coming back,” Safran said. “We love working with Jay. We love that character of Will, and we knew that we wanted to keep everyone around. It’s just hard in the CIA storyline to have like every FBI agent be a part of it. So we’re just sort of cycling people through.” Safran didn’t hint at which agent would make a comeback next, so fans will have to keep watching to find out who returns.

“Quantico” Season 2 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC. Watch the “Quantico” PaleyFest panel HERE.
