Queen Elizabeth offered a shocking warning to Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell.

In the Amazon Prime documentary “The Diana Story,” Burrell said that it was so difficult to tell Her Majesty that he was going to leave her to work for Princess Diana. Before Burrell could tell the Queen about his plans, she told him that she already had an idea.

“You don’t have to tell me, Charles has already told me. And think of it this way: you’re not actually leaving me, you’re just moving to one side for a short time,” Burrell quoted the Queen as saying.

Her Majesty apparently also said that when she dies and Prince Charles and Princess Diana are King and Queen, Burrell will most likely return to the palace to do the same job.

“But be careful Paul, it’s not all it seems,” the Queen concluded.

Burrell said that Her Majesty’s stark statement echoed in his ears as he left Buckingham Palace and for many years to come. And before Meghan Markle wed Prince Harry, the former royal butler issued the same warning to her.

“I think, yes she did want to be famous, she’s got everything she wanted, but I also think, be careful what you wish for,’ because sometimes it’s not all it seems,” he told Yahoo’s “Royal Box.”

During his interview, Burrell also mentioned Princess Diana and said that when the Princess of Wales was still alive, she found out that being a princess meant losing her anonymity.

“Losing that freedom, that’s a big task for any woman in today’s society,” he said.

A similar thing happened to Prince Harry’s wife when she decided to exit “Suits” so that they could tie the knot. However, Markle said during her engagement interview that she didn’t give up on her acting career or anything for that matter.

“I just see it as a change… It’s a new chapter, right? And also keep in mind I’ve been working on my show for seven years,” she told BBC.

Markle played the lead role of Rachel Zane in the hit USA Network series for six seasons.
