Queen Elizabeth II reportedly invited Meghan Markle's mom, Doria Ragland, to a special dinner that Kate Middleton's parents have not yet attended.

According to Adam Helliker, a journalist for Express, the monarch has invited Ragland to a Christmas dinner at Sandringham. Her Majesty is apparently doing this for the pregnant royal.

"It's a mark of the Queen's respect for Meghan and an acknowledgment that she doesn't have any other relations in this country - unlike Kate who has the support of a very close family," a source said.

Helliker added that Ragland impressed the Queen with her quiet composure during Prince Harry and Markle's royal wedding. She's the only family member on Markle's side that attended her big day.

In addition, the Queen reportedly acknowledged that Markle has no other family in Britain, unlike Middleton. As such, inviting the yoga instructor over for the holidays to be with her daughter was a "very thoughtful gesture" for the pregnant royal.

According to Tim Stickings of Daily Mail, the Queen's invitation to Ragland would break royal precedent as Middleton's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, have never been invited to stay at the Norfolk estate. However, the Duchess of Cambridge's family has joined the royals at church on Christmas morning, but they only stayed near Anmer Hall and not in Sandringham.

Ragland visited Markle in London in September. She was present at the launch of Markle's charity cookbook for the Grenfell Tower victims. Prince Harry was also in attendance for the said event.

During the said sighting, some fashion experts noticed that Ragland outshined her own daughter. Markle's mother arrived in a chic beige sweater, slacks and shawl. She paired with ankle-strap pumps and tied her hair back.

"I think that her look is classic and eye catching. She 100 per cent stands out more than Meghan, but not in a bad way," stylist and PR expert Rochelle White told Femail. "The colour of the outfit suits her skin tone, her outfit is well tailored, simple and classic."

Although Ragland was present to show support to Markle, the mother and daughter were warned against doing royal double acts. According to Amanda Platell, Carole Middleton "has been the model of discretion where Kate's royal duties are concerned."
