Jason Momoa was on Thursday’s episode of “Ellen’s Greatest Night Of Giveaways,” and during the episode, he and host Ellen DeGeneres helped surprise a couple who have gone through tragedy and heartache in the last year.

Degeneres shared the story of newlyweds Bryan and Sophia Kidwell with her viewers, while Momoa was the lucky celebrity who got to surprise them with their gift.

This couple was worthy of a surprise from the “Aquaman” star because of a tragic accident that happened on the beach one year prior, which left Bryan paralyzed.

Sophia revealed that while she and Bryan were at the beach, he was being “silly” and messing around in the waves by doing flips. His silliness turned serious after one of those flips when Bryan “just started floating” in the end. At the hospital, Sophia learned that Bryan had broken his neck and was paralyzed from the neck down.

The doctors told him that he would never walk again. But, Bryan surprised viewers by walking out to join Sophia and Degeneres during the interview.

“I beat the odds,” Bryan said to Ellen. “The doctors told me I would be in a wheelchair and I said no. I’m just very lucky.”

What pushed him to walk again was the fact that he was getting married to Sophia and he wanted to walk her down the aisle and share a first dance.

Momoa was touched by this story and wanted to give the couple something they would never forget. After a year of avoiding the beach where the accident happened, the trio headed back there.

Momoa pointed out that because of all Bryan's medical issues the couple hasn’t been able to go on their honeymoon. He then surprised them with an all-expenses-paid trip around the world for their honeymoon where they got to choose four places they wanted to go.

The couple chose Australia, Spain, Thailand and London.

Momoa then told the couple how he knows “it’s been very hard to save money with medical bills” and gifted them with $100,000 to cover medical expenses.

Bryan and Sophia were left crying from happiness and filled with gratitude at the end of the episode.
