Jen Shah broke her silence on why she declined a one-on-one interview with Andy Cohen.

The "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" star would not be sit down with Cohen following her prison sentencing. She released a lengthy statement on Instagram explaining her decision to turn down the interview.

"I am now at a point, legally, emotionally and mentally, where I can answer some questions and provide a few unknown details about my case," she wrote. "I want and need to share these critical facts. I owe it to those that love and support me to hear the truth."

She continued, "I will not be doing the 1:1 with Andy Cohen and Bravo because of their unwillingness to remove contractual provisions that would allow the network to legally make misrepresentations of me and my story, relating to any and all topics, prior to and during the course of my participation."

She stressed that the one-on-one interview wasn't part of the "RHOSLC" reality TV contract, and she promised herself and her family that she would not allow that portion of her life to be sensationalized or inaccurately conveyed.

She added that there were already too my people hurt by her actions and inability to control her narrative, so she would rather choose to remain silent and wait until she could share her story accurately than be misrepresented.

"I intend to speak, and you will hear from me. I will share my story and this painful part of my life very soon," she concluded.

Earlier this month, the "Real Housewives" producer said on SiriusXM's "Radio Andy" that he was looking forward to a potential interview with Shah.

"I'm hoping to go talk to Jen this weekend," he said on Jan. 9, Page Six reported. "I'm hopeful that I can do that sit-down [interview] with her in front of some cameras and deliver that to you. I'm really hoping to do that."

Shah was convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. On Jan. 6, she was sentenced to 78 months or 6.5 years in federal prison after a two-year saga, NBC News reported.

The outlet noted that federal inmates could earn up to 54 days of good time credit, and she could end up serving only 5.5 years of her actual sentence.

She will surrender herself to prison on Feb. 17, 2023. She will report to FPB Bryan, a minimum-security camp for women in Texas.
