Robin Roberts has announced she is getting married to her longtime partner Amber Laign this year.

The 62-year-old broadcaster spoke about her own marriage plans Monday.

"I'm hesitating because I haven't said it out loud yet ... I'm saying 'yes' to marriage," Roberts said. "We're getting married this year."

"It was something we had talked about but we had put it off, she became ill but ... it is saying yes to that, and that next chapter," the "Good Morning America" host continued.

Roberts and Laign have been together since 2005. She revealed last year that Laign was battling breast cancer.

"My sweet Amber wanted me to tell you something that she's been facing. At the end of last year, Amber was diagnosed with breast cancer," she wrote on Twitter at the time. "She had surgery last month and this morning will begin chemotherapy. Thankfully, the prognosis is good."

She gave an update about Laign's health in July: "Sweet Amber, Completing radiation, a very important phase of her treatment! We both thank you for all your well wishes and prayers. Proud of her and all fellow Thrivers for your grit and grace during a challenging time. This is indeed my #mondaymotivation 🙏🏾."

Even Roberts was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. She also battled a rare blood disorder, called myelodysplastic syndrome, in 2012.

Roberts and Laign first met on a blind date in 2005. During their 15-year anniversary celebration in 2020, Roberts disclosed she initially "tried to cancel" the date twice but was glad about how things went between them.

On the work front, Roberts was featured in an episode of "The Rookie" in 2021. Aside from that, she has been a regular on "Good Morning America" since 2002.

Before joining "Good Morning America," Roberts worked for 15 years as an ESPN broadcaster.
