Samsung Galaxy S4
The so-called Samsung Galaxy S4 rumor mill is not yet dying down, despite the fact that the March 14 release date of the device is just a few days away. Samsung Tomorrow

With just one week until Samsung debuts the Galaxy S4 at its Mobile Unpacked event on March 14 at Radio City Music Hall, the phone is already making its presence felt in Times Square.

Two gigantic “Be Ready 4” billboards are now up in New York’s hub. If we didn’t have a clue at how big Samsung expects this event to be, this is a major indication.

Samsung Tomorrow shared photos of the billboards lording over the tourist throngs, and also tossed around the idea that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be unveiled at Mobile Unpacked.

“It’s just one short week from now, and on March 14th, The Next GALAXY will be unveiled! It’s sure to be the biggest event of the season, and you don’t want to miss being among the first in the world to get a glimpse of The Next GALAXY,” Samsung Tomorrow declared, alongside the photos.

While there is no certainty that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy S4 at this event, calling it the “biggest of the season” clearly suggests that the South Korean electronics giant intends to awe and amaze. What better way to do so than to show off the latest “iPhone Killer” in all its glory?

Samsung Unpacked: A Look at Past Unveilings

Samsung tends not to follow a set pattern for unveiling its products. The Samsung Galaxy S3 was unveiled at Mobile Unpacked 2012 in London while the Galaxy S2 was unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Nexus smartphone and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at Mobile Unpacked 2011: Google Episode in Hong Kong.

Furthermore, Samsung's unveilings tend to bear the Mobile Unpacked logo regardless of whether they are a part of a bigger convention -- like MWC -- or standalone events.

Many are still wondering to what Mobile Unpacked 2013 “Episode 1” refers. Rumors suggest the event, which lasts from March 14 to March 17, will see Samsung unveil its 2013 lineup in three episodes over the course of three days. But nothing is certain.

The Mobile Unpacked 2011: Google Episode that brought us the Galaxy Nexus was aptly named as not only was a Samsung product unveiled with the phone, but so was a Google product, with the operating system. Regardless of whether it is currently known, the portentous “Episode 1” must have some meaning.

Samsung Galaxy: What Other Stars Does The Tech Giant Have To Show?

With all of Samsung's buzz surrounding the unveiling and release of the Galaxy S4, it seems most likely that the highly anticipated phone would make its debut at company’s premiere event.

There has been little news about other devices that could be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S4 next week. There are only murmurs now hitting the Web about another upcoming Samsung device, earmarked as the Galaxy Note 3.

Since not much is known about the phone except that it’s expected to have a 5.9-inch display with an Exynos 5 Octa quadcore processor, which has also been rumored for the Galaxy S4 -- it seems it should be projected for release in late 2013. Gotta Be Mobile suggests a September unveiling at the IFA Expo in Berlin.

So if not the Galaxy S4, what else can Samsung roll out at the “biggest event of the season?” Could the company possibly take a note from Sony and unveil a device -- or several -- without actually showing them publicly? There’s just seven days until we discover what Samsung has to unpack.
