Sarah Ferguson may want to add another member to her family.

On Wednesday night, the Duchess of York met "X Factor" star Dalton Harris as the latter was invited to perform at Kensington Palace to mark the 10th anniversary of her charity Street Child. Ferguson was so impressed with Dalton that she wanted to adopt him.

"Goodness me I think the world got lucky to have you, I need to adopt you immediately," Ferguson said (as quoted by Hello!).

Dalton shared photos of him and Ferguson on Instagram and described their encounter as "awesome." Another photo featured the pair hugging ahead of Saturday's "X Factor." "Still on a high from meeting @sarahferguson15 for the launch of @streetchilduk's #UKAidMatch #CountMeIn campaign," he wrote in the caption.

Dalton, 24, grew up in Jamaica where he suffered from childhood abuse and poverty. He was homeless and even told The Mirror that his mom's boyfriend once punched him so hard that he crashed through a window. According to him, he finds comfort when he sings.

"My childhood had no love or support. Applause means, finally, I have value. When I sing I feel safe and free from everything I left behind. I'm in a room of happiness," Dalton said.

Ferguson launched a fundraising campaign for her charity where she encouraged the public to donate to give a child an education. The Count Me In's funds will be used to buy school uniforms, train teachers and build classrooms for disadvantaged youngsters in 10 countries including Sierra Leone and Afghanistan.

In July, Ferguson made a big announcement about her charity. The Duchess of York revealed that she would be merging with Street Child to help more kids.

"We have solutions and will be able to educate and help 10,000 children of the 25,000 all living in this poverty. I am merging my foundation @ChildrenCrisis with @streetchilduk. So onwards and upwards @streetchilduk @TomDannatt #streetchild #childrenincrisis #nepal #janakpur," Ferguson wrote on Twitter.

Ferguson has been busy with her charity work after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding. In fact, following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding, she immediately flew to Las Vegas for her "Little Red" series of children's books.

"It's a big day for me. My idea is to find manufacturers today to help me manufacture Little Red so that we can help more children's lives," she said about the event.
