ABC has officially renewed “Scandal” for Season 7. The network made an announcement on Friday night, adding that “Grey’s Anatomy” has also been renewed for Season 14 and “How to Get Away With Murder” for Season 4.

According to Spoilers Guide, it was expected that all three of Shonda Rhimes’ shows will be picked up because their ratings have been very impressive since their return last month. “Scandal” Season 6, on the other hand, just premiered on Jan. 26. The Kerry Washington-starrer was delayed because of the lead star’s real life pregnancy.

ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey released a statement following the renewal. “‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘Scandal’ and ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ continue to keep viewers on the edge of their seats and wanting more. I’m thrilled to bring back these shows and the OMG moments that come with them,” he said.

Meanwhile, “Scandal” Season 6 is bound to release its fourth episode on Thursday night. “The Belt” will unveil new information from the night of Frankie Vargas’ (Ricardo Chavira) death. Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry), who happens to be in jail for having Frankie assassinated, won’t stop at anything until he gets the justice he thinks he deserves.

Other than the controversy surrounding the former governor’s demise, Mellie Grant’s (Bellamy Young) romance with Marcus Walker (Cornelius Smith Jr.) will also be explored. “Scandal” cast member Tony Goldwyn said that he doesn’t think President Fitz would mind if Mellie and Marcus get into an actual relationship. “I don’t think Fitz would have a problem with it, beyond the political problem of her having a relationship with a member of his staff. Mellie’s a single woman, and if Marcus makes her happy, I think Fitz would tell her to be with him,” he told TV Line.

“Scandal” Season 6 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
