Scarlett Johansson and her French husband Romain Dauriac have long been separated. However, the “Ghost in the Shell” star is ready to end her marriage with Dauriac by filing for a divorce, which many believe will lead to a custody battle over their 3-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac.

Johansson and Dauriac started dating in 2012. They eventually became an item, got engaged in 2013 and tied the knot on Oct. 1, 2014, after the “Avengers” star gave birth to their daughter. Unfortunately, two years after Johansson and Dauriac tied the knot, the couple split, Us Weekly reported. The pair had been very private when it came to their relationship. The split rumors only surfaced when the “Lucy” star was spotted on several occasions without her wedding band.

Just like any other parent, Johansson adores her daughter, Rose, and wants to spend more time with her. In fact, her little one was with her while she was shooting “Ghost in the Shell” in New Zealand. The “Captain America: Civil War” star said that while her job takes her everywhere, she will probably settle down in one place because Rose will be going to school soon.

“I guess now we’re kind of committed to living here because with our daughter we have to commit to someplace. She’ll be in school in a hot minute,” Johansson told Playboy.

On Tuesday, Johansson filed for divorce in the Manhattan Supreme Court, stating that her marriage with Dauriac was “irretrievably broken.” The “Under the Skin” star also asked the judge for primary custody of Rose, Page Six reported.

Unfortunately, Johansson and Dauriac’s divorce is expected to involve a “nasty custody battle.” Harold Mayerson, Dauriac's lawyer, revealed that his client is ready to fight Johansson's request. “He would like to move to France with his daughter and Ms. Johansson does a lot of traveling,” Mayerson stated about the couple's divorce drama. “It will be an interesting process.”

Should the court grant Johansson’s request? Do you agree with Dauriac that he should have primary custody over Rose? Share your thoughts below.
