Shadowhunters
Here's what fans can expect from “Shadowhunters” Season 2. Freeform

The plot for “Shadowhunters” Season 2, Episode 1 has been released.

Fans of the TV series based on Cassandra Clare’s books can now find out exactly what will happen in “This Guilty Blood.”

The synopsis reads: “The Shadow World is in upheaval as Valentine and The Circle continue to grow stronger by the minute, while our Shadowhunter team quickly becomes disillusioned with The Clave and their reaction to the recent events. Loyalties will be tested, unlikely bonds will be made and relationships will be pushed to the limit as the Shadowhunters and their Downworlder friends make their way in a new world.”

The release of the synopsis comes a few days after a snippet of the first episode was revealed. In the clip, a new character on the show, Victor (Nick Sagar), was announced as the new head of the New York Institute. In his welcome speech to his fellow shadowhunters, Victor addressed the issue about Jace (Dominic Sherwood) getting captured by Valentine (Alan van Sprang).

Victor promised the shadowhunters that finding Jace and getting him back safely is his priority. But he also ordered the institute to be on lockdown. This caused confusion for Clary (Katherine McNamara) and Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia). Despite that, they are positive that Jace will stay strong while being held captive by Valentine.

McNamara had previously teased that the upcoming season of the series will feature Clary and the other shadowhunters’ journey to finding Jace. The actress also said in a Q&A session that fans should watch out for a new kind of Clary in the upcoming season. In the first season of the show, Clary was new to being a shadowhunter, but the upcoming installment will feature her growth into a young woman who is sure of identity.
