Shadowhunters
Here's what fans can expect from “Shadowhunters” Season 2. Freeform

“Shadowhunters” Season 2 will show Jace (Dominic Sherwood) in a different light.

The shadowhunter, who was strict with following the rules of demon-fighting, will find himself allied with people who are against his family and friends. Before the first season ended, Jace decided to join Valentine (Alan van Sprang). This decision will not only cost him his relationship with his friends, but it will also make him a target for people who are against Valentine.

Jace will feel the tension the most in Season 2, episode 3, titled “Parabatai Lost.” The synopsis for the episode reads: “Already cut off from the Institute and his friends, Jace finds his situation worsen when he becomes a target for the New York wolf pack who believe Jace to be a killer. And don’t forget about Aldertree and the Shadowhunters who continue their own hunt for Jace. With Jace becoming the most wanted man in New York, can his friends get to him before everyone else?”

Jace’s decision to go with Valentine will affect not only him but also his friends. Alec (Matthew Daddario), his parabatai, will not take things lightly. Parabatais have a special bond, and Alec will definitely feel Jace’s absence.

Speaking of the arc, Daddario told Blasting News: “[Alec] doesn’t like it. He’s not handling it well. He’s not himself at all. [Part of himself] is missing. He has no way to handle this. He doesn’t know how to deal with it at all. He doesn’t know who to turn to.”

Jace’s disappearance will take a toll on Alec, and he will find someone to pin his anger on, which in this case is Clary (Katherine McNamara). A clip teasing the upcoming season shows Alec telling Clary that Jace would not have decided to go with Valentine if it were not for Clary and their complicated relationship.

“Shadowhunters” Season 2 will premiere Jan. 2, 2017 on Freeform.
