Shania Twain recently explained the reason why she mentioned Brad Pitt in her 1997 hit song, “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”

While speaking with Billboard, Twain said that when she saw racy photos of a 33-year-old Pitt at the time, she was unimpressed, not because of how Pitt looked, but because she’s seen similar photos throughout her life.

“You want to know the truth about this story? I’ve never told this before. I’m going to say it now. I remember I had a girl friend visiting me and it was near Christmas and we were baking cookies. I was writing this album and there was a scandal of Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow where there were naked photos of him in Playgirl magazine, which Pitt later successfully sued for publishing the paparazzi photos. And this was like all the rage. I just thought ‘I don’t know what all the fuss is about.’ I’m like, well that don’t impress me much, I mean what is all the fuss,” she said.

“That Don’t Impress Me Much” was part of Twain’s 1997 album, “Come on Over,” which became the second bestselling album of the Nielsen-era from 1991 until the present. Twain explained that it was not her intention to single out Pitt. “I wasn’t picking on Brad Pitt. But that was just the association in that moment and things we make fusses about and whatever. Of course, it could have been any gorgeous guy,” she explained.

Twain will soon be releasing her fifth studio album and previewed it in front of her loyal supporters before sharing the story behind the 20-year-old mystery. “Life’s About to Get Good” will be available on Sept. 29, 15 years after the singer last made a comeback in the music industry, according to People.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said that her upcoming album will be filled with songs inspired by her stored-up ideas for the past couple of years. “I’m forever backing things up. So if it’s a rainy day or if I’m bored, I’ll go through my electronics and listen to things. They’ll have titles like ‘Fun beat’ or ‘Fab memory.’ It’s really fun to experiment with arrangements,” she said.
