“Sleepy Hollow” will be returning with more drama, if that’s possible, when episode 2, “The Kindred,” airs Monday, Sept. 29. Curious to find out what the showrunners of the hit Fox drama have up their sleeves? Well, according to the synopsis for next week’s episode, the town of Sleepy Hollow is about to get even spookier!

Now that Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) is alive and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) is out of purgatory, Ichabod (Tom Mison) and the Mills sisters can focus all their energy on saving Katrina (Katia Winter) from the clutches of the Horseman of Death. That’s what episode 2 will largely focus on. According to the summary of “The Kindred,” Ichabod will abruptly wake from a prophetic dream of the Headless Horseman performing an “ancient and gruesome” ritual with the hopes of binding himself to Katrina, for all eternity.

After his nightmare, Ichabod and Lt. Abbie will concoct a daring plan to save Katrina by resurrecting a Frankenstein-like monster, known as “The Kindred,” which was previously created by Benjamin Franklin. Jeez, who knew the Founding Father was so into the supernatural? But before they attempt their hand at playing God the two will have to figure out where Katrina is. Ichabod will use his knowledge of his old friend to try and figure out where Abraham (Neil Jackson) has hidden his wife.

But that’s not all the drama rumored to occur in episode 2 of the new season. According to reports, Abbie will meet Captain Irving’s replacement, Sheriff Leena Reyes (Sakina Jaffrey), a no-nonsense peace officer who has a “firsthand knowledge of the Mills sisters and their troubled past.” Her skepticism will act as interference for our heroes who are trying to save the earth from the evil Moloch. Nobody’s got time for a cynic, Leena!

Fans will also get to see what’s up with Captain Irving (Orlando Jones) who is currently imprisoned for two murders -- which he didn’t commit. He’ll face some new troubles, too, after he reveals some details regarding his encounter with the demon Ancitef. And of course, everyone’s favorite villain, Henry (John Noble) will play a large part in the upcoming episode as he attempts to turn “a former foe into an ally.”
