Former One Direction member Zayn Malik has been the center of endless speculation ever since he decided to quit the group earlier this year. Jamie Scott, group's songwriter, has now revealed the real reason why Malik left.

“Zayn went because he’d had enough. Have you ever been on the road for four years? These guys aren’t at home. ... There is no way the same thing is going to run through all five guys, that they’re all going to want to be on the road so much together,” Scott told Mirror UK in an interview.

When Malik quit, there was media speculation that it was because of a rift in the group. But according to Scott, none of those reports was true. The songwriter said Malik remains friends with his former mates -- Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. He also said that it is human nature to suspect the exit was “complicated and [had] secret reasons, but that is what it was.” Malik quit in March, saying he wanted to be a "normal 22-year-old" and did not want to be with the group.

Almost immediately there was speculation that he started working on a solo project with Naughty Boy. The British musician and songwriter leaked some of his and Malik's music on Internet. That irked Tomlinson, who made fun of Naughty Boy on Twitter, calling him “such an in-demand producer” and also accusing him of “riding on the back of someone else's career.”

But Malik supported Naughty Boy and told Tomlinson on Twitter to stop making comments about him. This led everybody to believe that there was a rift between the group members. But Naughty Boy has now said that there is “no bad blood” between them. He also confirmed to RTE that “Zayn is definitely going to be on the album” that he will soon release. Naughty Boy's last album was 2013's “Hotel Cabana.”
