New pictures of “Star Wars: Episode 9” have surfaced online, revealing some iconic ships that will be back in the upcoming film. The pictures also tease how the story will include some flashbacks and how Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) may return.

The following article contains “Star Wars: Episode 9” spoilers.

New pictures from the upcoming film that have surfaced online on Instagram show the props of an X-Wing and an A-Wing that were built specifically for the JJ Abrams film. The pictures were initially posted on Reddit, but have since been taken down, which is another indication that they are authentic.

What is interesting about the X-Wing is that this ship reportedly belongs to Luke Skywalker. A picture from “The Last Jedi” tie-in book that previously created a buzz online revealed Luke’s ship under water. There were many questions at that time about how the ship ended up there. Did the Jedi Master deliberately sink it? Was it shot down?

According to the recent leak, “Star Wars: Episode 9” will include a flashback sequence that will show how Luke landed on the planet Ahch-To. Hamill has already been confirmed as a cast member, and for fans who were wondering if the Jedi Master will return as a Force Ghost, the leaks suggested that he will, in fact, return in the flesh.

A previous report by Making Star Wars previously confirmed the return of an X-Wing. However, Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) was not expected to be the pilot of that ship. The report suggested that another important character may be the pilot, but the name of this character was not revealed in that report.

Many new ships will be introduced in “Star Wars: Episode 9.” As previously reported, there will be three new variants of TIE fighters in the movie and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) will also get a new white colored ship.

Abrams has already wrapped filming, and the movie is currently in the post production phase of development. The first trailer is expected to be released by April during the Star Wars Celebration event. The video is also expected to be attached to the highly anticipated “Avengers: End Game” movie.

“Star Wars: Episode 9” will be released on Dec. 20.
