Star Wars The Force Awakens Pinball

Pinball is about to feel the full brunt of the Force, as Zen Studios have announced that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be coming to “Pinball FX 2” and “Zen Pinball 2” as downloadable content (DLC). The pack will be available on all consoles that support the aforementioned pinball games, along with PC and mobile devices on Jan. 12.

The “Force Awakens” pack actually comes with two different pinball games that are related to the acclaimed film: “Star Wars Pinball: The Force Awakens” and “Star Wars Pinball: Might of the First Order.” “The Force Awakens” follows the events of the film, as players team up with The Resistance -- including Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron -- take on The First Order.

Speaking of The First Order, the spotlight goes to them in the second game “Might of the First Order.” According to Polygon, players must extend the influence of the First Order to other planets, while constantly enforcing the control it already has on other planets. This actually sounds like a real-time strategy (RTS) game, so it will be interesting to see how Zen Studios incorporates this to the usual pinball mechanics.

One thing fans of the film will be happy with is how Rey is showcased in the game. She and Finn have the biggest portraits in the pinball table, while also having their own figures in it. Zen Studios is treating the character with more respect than the Monopoly Company did.

Despite being the main character of the film, Rey was nowhere to be seen in the recently released “Star Wars Monopoly” set, according to Kotaku. The company stated that it was due to spoilers, which many fans thought was a poor excuse to exclude the character. Thankfully, the company will be making things right by adding Rey in future releases of “Star Wars Monopoly.”

Fans will be able to purchase both games as a DLC bundle for $4.99. Both games can also be purchased individually for $2.99 making the bundle a much more affordable purchase. This should be a fun purchase for fans of the most recent film and “Star Wars” fans in general.
