The secret is finally out: The eighth installment to the “Star Wars” franchise will be called “The Last Jedi,” and fans could not be more excited for its release.

A day after this announcement was made, director Rian Johnson shared a photo on Instagram featuring the forthcoming film’s opening sequence, according to NME.

Months after keeping the huge secret under wraps, the director said it “felt so good” to be able to share it with the world.

Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the franchise, also feels the same way about the title announcement.

He revealed that Johnson already briefed him last year about the title and storyline, although personally, he’d rather not know since he’s no good in keeping secrets.

“I said, ‘Don’t tell me these things! I talk in my sleep!’ They have us so jacked up with paranoia over leaks,” Hamill said, according to Entertainment Weekly. “It’s funny, back when we were making the original, nobody cared.”

Hamill even got fans more excited when he teased that the new film will have a “real samurai” feel.

“The Last Jedi” will unfortunately be released without one of its mainstays Carrie Fisher, who played Luke’s sister Princess/General Leia Organa. Fisher, 60, passed away on Dec. 27, 2016 following a cardiac arrest. Shortly after, her mother, Debbie Reynolds died of the same reason as well. They are survived by daughter and granddaughter Billie Lourd.

However, Fisher will still be a part of the eighth film in the franchise. Variety has reported that the actress was able to wrap shooting last July, so producers will not have to address her death until the ninth film, which will only begin shooting in 2018.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will be released on Dec. 15.
