Supernatural season 9 spoilers
What will happen in the Season 9 finale of "Supernatural"? Cate Cameron/The CW

She’s baaack! That’s right, “Supernatural” fans, the beloved – or should we say feared – Tessa, the Reaper, played by Lindsey McKeon, will be reprising her mischievous role once again to wreak havoc in the Season 9 finale of our favorite CW series. And according to the synopsis of episode 24, “Do You Believe in Miracles,” the pretty-faced death escorter will be giving the Winchester boys a run for their money when they find out what she has up her supernatural sleeve.

“After a massive attack on the angels, Castiel (played by Misha Collins) calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help. As they leave, Dean’s eagerness to bring the First Blade doesn’t go unnoticed by Sam, who is worried about the cost to his brother whenever he uses the Blade.”

In episode 16, “Blade Runners,” Sam became aware that the First Blade, a weapon used by Cain to kill Abel, has a negative effect on his brother. Dean turns into this irrational killing machine when he clutches the weapon fashioned from the jaw of a donkey.

“Meanwhile, Castiel is shocked when he learns the angel that caused the attack was one of his followers and did it in his name,” the summary continued. But who? This is where Tessa comes into play. “Dean discovers there is a conspiracy amongst Castiel’s angel followers and at the heart of it is Tessa, the Reaper.”

Will Dean kill Tessa the reaper in the Season 9 finale? Cate Cameron/The CW

On April 3 the actress made the exciting announcement of her return to “Supernatural.”

“Off to Vancouver to reprise my beloved role as #TessaTheReaper @cw_spn Stay tuned, you will all be very excited,” she wrote to her Twitter followers. Instead of receiving a slew of excited replies, fans began speculating why McKeon was making a reappearance – specifically wondering if Tessa was going to get killed off.

According to “Supernatural,” it is possible to kill a reaper… that is, if you use an angel sword. Imagine what the First Blade would do to Tessa if Dean tried to kill her with it? We’re questioning Tessa’s fate specifically because of what the synopsis hinted about Dean’s uncontrollable personality when he has the First Blade in hand.
