  • Surface Pro 7 shutdown issue remains unresolved
  • Microsoft has yet to roll out patch for unexplained shutdowns
  • Surface Pro 7 owners coping with temporary workarounds

The Microsoft Surface Pro Series are ideal solutions for folks who want flexibility and productivity wherever they go. Its ability to turn into a laptop and a tablet (or vice versa), makes it a cheeky solution with the Redmond company continuing to enhance features. That includes the shift to USB-C which makes it almost perfect.

Microsoft has since ventured out, releasing laptops, desktops aside from the initial Surface Pro 2-in-1 solutions. This has expanded the options that consumers are looking for although they are not spared from problems. One product suffering problems to this day is the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 which was one of the devices to adopt the USB-C interface. But the problem most are dealing with right now is random and unexplained shutdowns tied up to the device's operating system - Windows 10.

Slash Gear pointed out how this issue remains and has become a burden for Microsoft Surface Pro 7 owners. The main issue is that the device shuts down the tablet computer for no explainable reason. This bug remains unresolved since coming out in late 2019. To date, Microsoft has yet to come out with a fix for it and there seems to be none coming shortly.

Microsoft is aware of the issue. Support people on their end have acknowledged the problem and said that they are looking into the problem but did not provide a timetable on when a fix would be coming out. That question on the Surface 7 Pro shutting down randomly was made last December and can be viewed here.

Seeing how most people are now turning to their devices, it is a problem that most hope would not hinder their routine. Some have tried some workarounds, matters that hold no guarantee. It would not be surprising to find out if Microsoft is one of the companies plagued with manpower problems. Hence, it has become a touch-and-go scenario for Surface Pro 7 owners for now. As for a fix, it is something only Microsoft can resolve - that is if they have started anything at all.

Speaking of Microsoft, a previous post revealed how they will be rolling out the Microsoft Surface Go 2. It is a cheaper alternative that will reportedly be confirmed next month. Hopefully, it does not carry the same problems Surface Pro 7 owners are dealing with right now.
