Taylor Swift subtly teased lyrics to a song from her new album "Midnights" during her speech at New York University back in May — and fans are praising her for the clever move.

When the 32-year-old Grammy winner was receiving her Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from NYU this spring, she told the audience during her speech, "We will breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep, breathe out," according to Page Six.

Swift then jokingly added, "And I am a doctor now, so I know how breathing works."

Swift was invited by NYU to deliver a commencement address to its graduating students at Yankee Stadium after being awarded an honorary doctorate. The university described the eleven-time Grammy winner as "one of the most prolific and celebrated artists of her generation," according to a press release shared ahead of the event.

Fans noticed the secret teaser this week after the "Lover" singer collaborated with Spotify for the promotion of her 10th studio album. Swift shared a sneak peek of some of her lyrics from "Midnights" on the music streaming platform's billboards in various cities, including Nashville, Tennessee, and São Paulo, Brazil.

"Breathe in, breathe through, breathe deep, breathe out," one billboard read, according to a post by a Twitter user, who attached a clip from the musician's May speech to prove the connection. The video has accumulated more than 2 million views and over 122,000 "likes" as of writing.

Swifties immediately reacted to the surprise "Easter egg," with one tweeting: "She did that on purpose."

Another commented, "She's so funny and she [doesn't] know that."

"She's the most insane person I know," a third user said, while another commented, "When I first heard her speech, I lowkey thought that line was a bit random and unusual. BRO, I SHOULD'VE KNOWN."

"I am actually so scared of what this woman is capable of. Right under our noses," another wrote.

Ahead of its release, other Spotify billboards in cities across the globe revealed more lyrics from Swift's highly anticipated album, Billboard reported.

One billboard at a train station in São Paulo said, "Just like clockwork, the dominoes cascaded in a line."

A second billboard went up an hour later on the side of Nashville's 1720 West End building, displaying the lyrics, "Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room?"

The musician is known for surprising her fans with Easter eggs.

In 2019, Swift wore a jacket covered with pins that gave hints about her seventh studio album "Lover." Two years later, she released merchandise for her rerecorded "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" album that aligned with the album art of the original album from 2008, according to Page Six.

Since Swift announced the release of "Midnights" during the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards in August, the singer has unveiled details about her 10th studio album on social media, including the complete tracklist.

She also teased that one of the songs on the album, "Lavender Haze," was inspired by her relationship with her longtime beau Joe Alwyn.

"Midnights" dropped Friday at 12 a.m. EDT.
