Pop princess Taylor Swift has been M.I.A. as of late. The “Blank Space” singer’s social media presence and appearances in public have been lacking. There may be good reason for her low profile, however.

According to ET Online, Swift holed herself up to get some creative juices flowing. Sources told the publication she “has been busy working on her upcoming album.” Swift’s reportedly trying to pin down the sound and feel of the album, expected to drop late this year.

In the meantime, Swifties can enjoy the 10-time Grammy award winner’s music on Spotify free for the next two weeks. The catch? Users must sign up for Spotify Premium. Once they’ve done that, they’ll enjoy exclusive access to all Universal Music Group artists’ music.

The news has to do with a new agreement between Spotify and Universal Music Group. Sir Lucian Grainge, CEO of the label, released a statement about the deal on Tuesday. He praised streaming companies like Spotify for the growth they’ve spurned in the industry.

“Eight years ago, when streaming was a welcome but small source of revenue, UMG embraced partners like Spotify as a way to help music return to a vibrant future benefiting the entire ecosystem,” he said. “Working hand in hand with these digital services brought us the industry’s first real grown in nearly two decades. Today, streaming represents the majority of the business. Our challenge is transforming that upturn into sustainable growth.”

If there is truth to the rumors about Swift, the album will be her first new release since January. At the time, she and collaborator Zayn Malik teamed up to create the sexy video for their hit “I Don’t Want to Live Forever.” The video faced backlash from fans for lacking intimacy.

The song, featured in “Fifty Shades Darker,” came out in 2016. During an interview with “The Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” Malik revealed that adding Swift, 27, to the song was an afterthought. He mentioned it to her in passing and, after hearing and falling in love with the record, she agreed to lay down some vocals.

“We were king of in separate places when I mentioned the idea to her. I spoke to her on the phone and she heard the song because [producer] Jack [Antonoff] had played it to her. So she really liked it and she went in the studio the next day,” he shared.
