“Teen Mom 2” alum Jenelle Evans is thankful for a lot of things this holiday season. However, she is especially grateful for her reunion with her children following her split with her husband David Eason.

After Jenelle revealed that David killed her dog after it bit their 2-year-old daughter, Ensley, she lost custody of her children. However, she did attempt to fight the courts to reunite with Ensley and her two other sons, Jace, 10, and Kaiser, 5.

Jenelle eventually realized she needed to distance herself from David if she wanted to protect her kids. On Thanksgiving, the “Teen Mom 2” alum seemed to reflect on the last few months and her troubled relationship with David.

“Thankful for the amazing kids I have and grateful for finally finding happiness within myself,” she wrote on Twitter.

Earlier this month, E! News reported that Jenelle obtained a temporary restraining order against David after he began threatening her. “Because of his recent threats, his history of violence, his erratic behavior, and his large stockpile of weapons, I am scared for my life and my children’s well-being,” she stated in court documents.

“Given his actions and knowing his temperament, I believe he was implying that he would kill himself if I do not come back to him... For all of these reasons, I’m afraid that David will harm me or my children, and that he will continue to threaten me using text messages, phone calls, or on the internet.”

The temporary order of protection gave Jenelle custody of the children and forbade David from contacting them. David was also ordered to avoid speaking about Jenelle on the internet and social media.

Although she has had a scandalous year, it appears Jenelle is thankful for her children and cherishing their special holiday memories.
