On Sunday, "Today" weatherman Al Roker shared that his daughter, Courtney Roker, had recently gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Wesley Laga. His announcement came after he got the OK to do so from Courtney.

In a post that was shared to his Instagram, Roker said that he "could not be more thrilled for these two." He also accompanied his sentiments with the hashtag "#shesaidyes." His post can be seen below.

Courtney herself also shared the news on her social media accounts. At that time, she revealed that while the engagement had been a great experience, it was not quite what had initally been planned.

"Life sometimes takes you in a different direction for a reason," she began in her own post. "We should have been in Paris, but with how the world is at the moment, it was placed on hold. Instead, Wes brought Paris to me with the music, lights and live cam shot of the Eiffel Tower on our TV," she added of the engagement. Her post can be seen below.

According to PopCulture.com, a few of Roker's colleagues at the NBC morning show also shared their thoughts on his daughter's news. "Amazing! Congrats to [Courtney Roker] and it's so nice to have good news during this time," wrote Natalie Morales. Anchor Savannah Guthrie then added "WOW!!!!!!!!," while Willie Geist congratulated "Courtney and Papa Al."

Aside from the positive update, the morning news show has been a topic of conversation in recent months due to the ways in which the ongoing spread of COVID-19 has affected the day-to-day operations. Roker himself previously made the decision to begin conducting his on-air appearances from home, while Guthrie decided to step away from Studio 1A as well.

Additionally, co-host Hoda Kotb has also discussed novel coronavirus outbreak on several occasions in recent weeks. Not only has she revealed the "incredible" part of her self-isolation, but she also became emotional during a live broadcast due to a generous gift that New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees gave to aid the fight against the ongoing pandemic.
