Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady will be taking a personal day every Wednesday throughout the 2022 season due to personal issues.

On Sunday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Brady, who took a rest day this past Wednesday, will now receive the same designation every week of the season.

The NFL legend's weekly personal day off means he will appear on every injury report throughout the season. The list is expected to be updated on Thursdays or Fridays to report any legitimate injuries.

It appears the 44-year-old is taking advantage of his veteran perks, which allow seasoned players to take a day off each week. In the past, Brady has occasionally taken off Thursdays with the Bucs.

"For most players, it's important," Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said on Friday.

"But I think when you play in the league a certain amount of time, and you prepare a certain way, it's not necessary to practice that guy all the time. You're going to practice, but you're not going to practice all the time. You'll get a day off here and there because it is a long season."

Backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert will take over Brady's reps on first and second-down days.

Brady's weekly personal days come amid reports his marriage with supermodel Gisele Bundchen had hit a rough patch after he decided to end his brief retirement and return to football.

The decision reportedly upset Bundchen, who wanted Brady to spend more time with their family.

"She's a very 'pros vs. cons' person, and she sees very few pros to him playing anymore," a source previously told People.

"She's told him that he's the GOAT, and he has absolutely nothing left to prove. He could be going out on top, and playing until the wheels fall off doesn't seem to be the way to go out on top."

Brady married Bundchen in 2009 in a small ceremony. The couple shares two children, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9.
