After filing for bankruptcy in 2018, Toys ‘R’ Us will be opening up toy shops in over 400 Macy’s department stores nationwide.

On Thursday, Toys ‘R’ Us and Macy’s announced plans to partner up to begin opening toy shops in 2022.

“Toys ‘R’ Us is a globally recognized leader in children’s toys and our partnership allows Macy’s to significantly expand our footprint in that category while creating more occasions for customers to shop with us across their lifestyles,” Nata Dvir, the chief merchandising officer at Macy’s, said in a press release.

This marks the second attempt to revive the toy brand after it closed all its stores nationwide in June 2018.

Brand management company WHP Global brought Toys ‘R’ Us earlier this year with plans to expand the toy company’s reach both globally and digitally.

“Our partnership with Macy’s marks the greatly anticipated return of Toys ‘R’ Us in the U.S.A. and changes the retail landscape by combining two beloved retail brands together for consumers across the nation in a completely innovative way,” said Yehuda Shmidman, WHP Global and Toys ‘R’ Us chairman and CEO.

When stores open next year, Toys ‘R’ Us customers will be greeted by the brand’s iconic mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe as they enter the shop. The store will also feature sections according to category, age, and interest, as well as activation center and more.

It is unclear which Macy’s stores will feature the Toys ‘R’ Us and how large the stores will be. Customers can now shop for toys online at Toys ‘R’ Us and Macy’s websites.
