Days after a disappointing turnout for a highly publicized campaign rally in Oklahoma, President Donald Trump on Thursday made an unusual comment at a Fox News Town Hall in Wisconsin about losing the presidential election to presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

"[Biden's] going to be your president because some people don't love me, maybe,” Trump told host Sean Hannity. “All I’m doing is doing my job.”

Trump, who often boasts about his accomplishments, might be recognizing recent polls that show him trailing by a convincing margin to Biden. The latest NPR/PBS/Marist poll shows Biden at 52% support, with Trump standing at 44%. A New York Times/Siena College survey shows Biden at 50% support to Trump’s 36%. Trump also trails in several key battleground states, such as Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

A longtime Republican pollster, Frank Luntz, told CNBC on Friday that Biden is the favorite for the upcoming election. Luntz said Trump has been alienating voters with divisive rhetoric after the death of George Floyd.

“This election is absolutely not over. But it’s Joe Biden’s to lose,” Luntz said on the “Squawk Box” program. “You never, ever count anyone out, but these have not been a good two weeks for Donald Trump.”

Trump has promoted a strong economy as his key achievement, but businesses have been hurt amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. On Friday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott closed down bars in his state amid a surge in infections.

Trump has been criticized for downplaying the virus and politicizing the use of masks. The infection rate in the U.S. is so high that the European Union is looking at banning the travel of Americans into the bloc.

The U.S. currently has the most coronavirus cases in the world. As of 3:10 p.m. ET, there are 2,492,246 cases in the U.S. and a death toll of 125,340.
