  • Twitter users said they won't watch "Aquaman 2" because Amber Heard is part of the movie
  • Some netizens argued that they would support both films despite the issue with Heard

Twitter users have already picked which between "Avatar 2" and "Aquaman 2" they will watch when both movies hit the cinemas.

Two big movies will be going head-to-head in theaters at the end of the year. James Wan's "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" and James Cameron's "Avatar 2" will premiere on Dec. 16.

Twitter users reacted after learning that the two films will arrive on the same day. Many preferred to watch the sequel of "Avatar" over Jason Momoa's superhero movie due to Amber Heard's casting even if some of them weren't a fan of "Avatar."

"I'm glad that Twitter collectively agrees to completely avoid 'Aquaman 2' as long as Amber Heard is in it and watch 'Avatar 2' instead come December 16," one tweeted.

"I don't think releasing 'Avatar 2' and 'Aquaman 2' on the same day is wise considering how successful each of those films first go round were and the anticipation is for both. However, I know Amber 'Turd' Heard is in 'Aquaman 2' so I will pass on that and watch 'Avatar 2'," another wrote adding he hoped he won't regret it.

"I'm watching 'Avatar 2' even though I didn't really care abt the first and I'm so not gonna watch 'Aquaman 2' f--k amber heard !!!!" another added.

"I'll watch 'Avatar 2' but sadly not 'Aquaman 2' because Amber Heard is in it," a different user commented.

Meanwhile, some fans were supportive of Momoa's return as "Aquaman" and said they would still watch it and the other films, too.

"This December I will watch 3 movies because everyone is allowed more than 1 film per month. 'Aquaman 2,' 'Avatar 2' and 'Mario Bros.' animated film," one wrote.

"I will watch 'Aquaman 2,' because I support Jason Mamoa," another commented.

"Oh I’m watching the hell out of 'Aquaman 2.' Amber always been [fire emoji]," another fan wrote.

"I would watch 'Aquaman 2' three times in a row before watching 'Avatar 2' once," a fourth user stated.

The netizens have mixed opinions on Heard's casting in the "Aquaman" sequel following her legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp. There was even an online petition asking Warner Bros. to remove Heard as Mera in the sequel and replace her with another actress, like Emilia Clarke, Momoa's on-screen partner on "Game of Thrones." However, some argued it was unnecessary because Heard played her role well.

"I agree Amber is an excellent Mera, her personal life does not have to interfere with her work life," one wrote.

"No thanks, we already have an excellent Mera," another fan commented.
