Harry Potter fans will have a new place to congregate next year.

Universal Orlando announced that it will be expanding its Wizarding World of Harry Potter to include Diagon Alley.

“We are thrilled to offer the legions of fans the opportunity to embark on this new journey and experience Diagon Alley as it was brought to life in the books and films,” Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, said.

The new area will also include scenes from London described in the books and will connect to the existing theme park via the Hogwarts Express. There will be more shops, a restaurant, and a ride based on the goblin-run Gringotts bank.

The new Harry Potter world will be built on the former “Jaws” ride in Universal Studios' Florida park, AP reports.

J.K. Rowling is happy about the news.

“I’m so pleased that the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has proved so popular to date, and I’m sure that the attention to detail in creating the new Diagon Alley area will make this an even better experience,” the series author said in a news release.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade opened in June 2010. Harry Potter books have sold 450 million copies worldwide and the book’s film franchise has grossed more than $7.7 billion to date, making it the largest-grossing film series ever.
