“This is Us” fans, prepare to be thrown for yet another loop. To date, we’ve traveled through the past and present day aspects of Rebecca, Jack, Kevin, Kate and Randall’s lives, but many unanswered questions remain. That will all change in Season 1, episode 5 of the NBC drama.

According to a synopsis for “The Game Plan,” viewers will time travel back to the 70s, before Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) were the parents of three newborns. The pair will argue about starting a family, suggesting that they are not on the same page about some aspect of becoming parents. Jack’s love of the Pittsburgh Steelers will also factor into the episode as it is revealed why the team holds such a special place in the hearts of himself, his wife and three kids.

In addition to great back story, episode 5 will also focus in on Kevin (Justin Hartley). The formerly out of work actor has landed a new role and it’s resonating with some of the issues he’s having in his personal life at the moment. While things start falling into place for him, brother Randall (Sterling K. Brown) is struggling to hold it together. The synopsis suggests he and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) will “encounter an unexpected turn of events.” Some fans speculate that may be related to Randall’s budding relationship with his father, who is ailing. Could William’s (Ron Cephas Jones) days on “This is Us” be numbered?
