"The Voice" returns to NBC on Monday, Sept. 19. NBC

“The Voice” Season 11 is set to have a double premiere this week, bringing two new female judges and a lot of talented contestants.

For the next few weeks, amateur singers will audition in front of coaches Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys, who will, in turn, try to convince their favorites to choose them as their mentor. When all four judges get their maximum number of contestants, the singers will then have to pair off and compete in the Battle and Knockout rounds. Those who move on to the next round will then have to perform for America’s vote during the live playoffs.

While we’re still several weeks away from the live playoffs, it’ll come in handy for viewers to know how to vote for their favorite contestants and keep them on the show. Check out the rules about voting in “The Voice” Season 11 below!

Where To Vote

Viewers can vote for their favorite artists using four methods: the NBC website, Facebook, the official mobile app for “The Voice” or iTunes. NBC.com and the mobile app both allow fans to vote 10 times per singer per email address or valid Facebook account during the designated voting period. For those who prefer voting through Facebook, the same rules apply. Voting for iTunes has a different rule, which will be discussed below.

Who Can Vote

According to NBC’s rules (via Heavy), only viewers aged 13 and above can vote for their favorite artist on “The Voice” Season 11. Each fan who wants to vote, regardless of the method used, will be asked to verify their age. However, with a parent’s or guardian’s help/permission, it’s possible that young viewers can still vote for their pick.

How To Vote Using iTunes

For those who prefer using iTunes to vote, viewers with valid Apple IDs need to purchase the song that their chosen contestant performed during “The Voice” Season 11 broadcast. Each purchased song will count as one vote for the artist. For artists’ whose songs rise to the Top 200 Singles Chart on iTunes, their votes from the Apple service will be multiplied by 10.

It’s important to note that purchasing the artist’s song only counts as a vote in their favor if it’s done during the voting period. Buying tracks the contestant performed in the previous episodes won’t be counted for the latest week.

When To Vote

Viewers will be able to vote for their favorites during “The Voice” Season 11 episode every Monday night, starting 8 p.m. EDT. The voting period will extend to the following day, but only until 12:00 p.m. EDT. It’s important to keep in mind that some voting methods will ask fans to queue up and save their selections, but they won’t be counted as votes for their chosen contestant until the end of the voting period. This happens automatically, so users won’t have to worry about voting again and again. During the live playoffs, you can check the full schedule for “The Voice” Season 11 here.

What Is Instant Save

For those whose favorites end up in the bottom two, there’s no need to panic as there is still a way to save the performer. During the live playoffs, the bottom two contestants will be given a chance at a live Twitter save. The artists will sing a song or their choice, and viewers will be given a very small voting window — an estimated five minutes or one commercial break — to try to save their favorite contestant through Twitter. Viewers with an active account on Twitter, with its privacy settings set to “public,” only need to tweet their chosen performer’s name with the designated hashtag. Only one tweet per user will be counted.
