Following a night of performances that brought everything to the table, America was forced to eliminate three of the remaining eight contestants on Season 7 of “The Voice." Now, in the aftermath of the Dec. 2 triple elimination, the top 5 are set to battle it out next week.

Fans of Team Pharrell were disappointed with Tuesday night’s results as his final remaining teammates, DaNica Shirey and Luke Wade, were sent home, leaving the judge nothing else to do this season but sit in his red chair and pass judgment. Luckily, he's already signed on for Season 8 of "The Voice," according to Hollywood Life. In addition to Team Pharrell, Team Gwen finally lost Ryan Sill after surviving the bottom three the past three weeks.

As noted by TV Line, the three had their shot at an “InstantSave,” but their songs failed to wow the crowd into voting them in.

Wade crooned with a rendition of “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, while Shirey tried her hand at “I’d Rather Go Blind” by Etta James. The performances were good but didn't really dazzle the audience into picking up their phones and casting a vote for either of them to stay. Sill fared no better with his song choice, “Heaven,” by Bryan Adams.

Chris Jamison, who joined them in the bottom four, beat the trio of singers in the “InstantSave” round. As Entertainment Weekly notes, Jamison’s inclusion in the bottom tier of performers marks the first time in Season 7 that one of Levine’s singers was in the bottom. His version of “Georgia On My Mind” by Ray Charles won audience votes during the brief five minutes they had to rescue him from going home. It was surprising to see him in the bottom rung of performers at all after a pretty spectacular performance during Monday's live show.

Now, with the group down to the top 5, it’s clearer that Adam Levine is the top dog of Season 7. Three of the remaining five singers -- Chris Jamison, Matt McAndrew and Damien -- are all members of Team Adam.

Meanwhile, Team Gwen and Shelton are holding strong with their single performers, Taylor John Williams and Craig Wayne Boyd, respectively. It’s worth noting that the loss of Shirey on Dec. 2 means that the rest of the competition will be a boys' club, but a talented one.

Damien, Chris Jamison, Matt McAndrew, Taylor John Williams and Craig Wayne Boyd -- the top 5 from Season 7 of “The Voice” -- will perform to secure a spot in the finals on Monday, Dec. 8, on NBC.
