  • Tesla Cybertruck Armor Glass was shattered when a steel ball was thrown at it during its official unveiling
  • A new video shows that VW Golf beats the glass of Tesla Cybertruck
  • The video shows how the VW Golf's glass becomes almost indestructible when a protective film was applied to it

A video showing a Volkswagen Golf holding up to a massive steel ball thrown at it several times as well as repeated blows by a hammer was recently spotted online via InsideEVs. The glass of the vehicle only broke when a sledgehammer was used to strike it. What makes the video more interesting is the fact that it outperforms that Tesla Cybertruck, particularly when a protective film was added to its glass, making it almost indestructible, reports InsideEVs.

The video was from a YouTube user named CarHax, who teased that Tesla CEO Elon Musk would be jealous of his vehicle’s window. The video is available on his YouTube channel titled “How hard is a normal window compared to Tesla Cybertruck window.” The YouTuber also says:

How hard are the side windows on a normal car compare to Tesla Cybertruck windows?

I found out that the side windows are very hard to break.

After I broke the normal window I decided to make the new window indestructible adding one the exterior a 4mil safety film and on the interior a 1.5mil Film.

Based on the video shared by the YouTuber, anyone can see that a large and heavy-looking steel ball is thrown at the side glass of the VW Golf repeatedly. With every throw, there is increased speed and force. Seeing that the glass would not break with the steel ball, the YouTuber changes to a large hammer. He lands several strikes on the glass with increased intensity in every blow, but the glass would not give in.

The owner of the video decides to change the hammer to a sledgehammer, at this point, the glass of the VW Golf shatters. Surprisingly, the YouTuber adds protective films to the vehicle’s glass and installs it on the same vehicle. At this point, the glass was close to indestructible that a sledgehammer blow could not break it.

In the video, the YouTube user is seen getting knocked and almost took a tumble when he strikes the glass by a sledgehammer again. The blow must be very strong since the door and glass flex could be seen affected by the repeated blow. The door seals also absorb the shock, and the vehicle can be seen moving a little bit when it received a hard blow.

During the infamous unveiling of the Tesla Cybertruck, the Tesla Armor Glass broke because, according to some reports, the blow it took from the dead-blow hammer must have impacted the body of the vehicle and weakened or damaged the edge of the glass.
